The last thing rancher Rory Kendrick expects to find when he’s searching for his missing cattle is a genuine damsel in distress. After rushing to help, he can’t help wanting to do anything he can for this lovely but damaged woman. But even his kind deed won’t get Sadie to tell him who’s responsible for hurting her.
Sadie is trying to hold onto her family, and her life. With an ill father who’s refusing treatment and a younger brother who has fallen in with a dangerous crowd, she’s beginning to feel like she can’t save anyone, least of all herself. When her brother owes money to the wrong people, Sadie tries to pay off his debts, but she doesn’t have the cash. The one person who might be able to help her out is the last person she wants to involve in her family drama, but Rory won’t take no for an answer.
Rory is all about family, but sometimes you’ve got to let go. If you can’t save them, save yourself. Sadie’s been dealt a bad hand she refuses to fold. Because he loves her, he’ll do anything to keep her safe and give her the happy life she deserves, even betray her trust to take down her brother.

Review:
This is the second book I read by Ryan for this series and I really liked this book. Ryan delivers strong characters and a emotional plot that had me in tears more then once.
Rory is looking for whoever is stealing his cattle but comes across a gruesome scene that will change his life forever. He's seen Sadie around but never had the nerve to approach her but now that he has her it's for keeps.
After Sadie's mother passed away she has been working her ass off to not only keep her brother out of trouble but to take care of her father. Now that Rory and her are getting closer she has some real hard decisions to make and she hopes she makes the right one.
Ah man do I love these brothers. They are close which was so sweet yet they had this funny banter I just couldn't get enough of. Rory was an absolute doll considering how grumpy he can be but oh boy I love how fast and hard he fell for Sadie.
Sadie was a sweet girl and I love how she wanted to help her brother, took care of her dad, was trying to finish school and just wanted to do the right thing. When her and Rory got together I was like finally now they can stop mooning over each other!
This book had a little suspense on what would happen and when? Who are these people and what will these mean for the relationship between the two main characters. I have to say I was pleased with how it was told.
Be warned there is so emotional times throughout this story that only made me enjoy it more. It was real, honest and Ryan couldn't have done a better job with these characters emotions during these times.
I'm really excited to read more of this series and find out what will happen with Ford and Colts stories. I have a feeling they are going to be good!
