Alpha by Rachel Vincent

I don't even know where to start... Rachel Vincent is truly amazing! I have read plenty of books, but Rachel Vincent not only surpassed her other books in the shifters series, but topped it all off with a big bang.

"YOU'VE GOT TO HAVE FAYTHE...

The unscrupulous new Council chair has charged Jace, Marc, and me with trespassing, kidnapping, murder, and treason. Yeah, we've been busy. But now it's time to take justice into our own hands. We must avenge my brother's death and carve out the rot at the heart of the Council.

It's not going to be easy, and loss seems unavoidable, but I have promised to protect my Pride, no matter what. With a target on my back and Marc at my side, I'm heading for a final showdown that can--that will--change everything forever. A showdown I'm not sure I'm ready for.
But life never waits until you're ready."

This was most amazing ride I have been on in a long time. I was hooked from the very first page. The emotions in this book were so strong i cried and ached along with this characters. Anger, anxiety, fear, joy, love, pain, loss and healing. Action packed with adventure and trust me when I say there was never a dull moment. Just when you think things are going a certain way, bring in the twists and turns that end up changing all of there lives. The suspense was killing me through out the book and I never wanted to put it down.

From the first chapter you can feel what Faythe was experiencing and wanted all through out the entire book. Everything that was ongoing in the series was answered. Ethan's pregnant human girlfriend, whats to become of pride, and on going love triangle. Yes, she does pick the one that fits her perfectly. Of course I wasn't so happy with her choice, but her only goal is to do what feels right to her and pride.

This is definitely a book i can assure you will love and not be able to put down. I wish there were more shifters books to look forward in the future. Although, I'm sad to see this series end... Rachel Vincent came out on top.

Taken by Midnight by Lara Adrian

I think ill start off with a big WOW! Lara Adrian has got me hooked (not that she didn't before), but now the story is progressing more and I found putting this book down was a big problem.

"At the crossroads of death and desire, a woman tastes a pleasure no mortal is meant to survive . . .

In the frozen Alaskan wilderness, former state trooper Jenna Darrow survives an unspeakable breach of body and soul. But with her narrow escape comes an even greater challenge. For strange changes are taking place within her, as she struggles to understand--and control--a new hunger. To do so, she will seek shelter in the Boston compound of the Order, an ancient race of vampire warriors whose very existence is shrouded in mystery. Perhaps the most mysterious of them all is Brock, a brooding, dark-eyed alpha male whose hands hold the power to comfort, heal . . . and arouse.

As she recovers under Brock's care, Jenna finds herself drawn to the Order's mission: to stop a ruthless enemy and its army of assassins from subjecting Earth to a reign of terror. Yet in spite of their resolve, a purely physical relationship without strings soon binds Brock and Jenna together with a desire fiercer than life and stronger than death itself--until a secret from Brock's past and Jenna's own mortality challenges their forbidden love to the ultimate trial by fire."

From reading, Shades of Midnight, I was interested to see how the Brock and Jenna story was going to play out. I was in awe throughout the whole story on how both are attracted to each other, but yet somethings being held back. This story was face paced, exciting and lots of romance. The emotions in this book were deep, I cried on a few parts and when I turned to the last page I had to stop myself from screaming no!

The way they held each other up throughout the story was amazing. Lara Adrian couldn't have made two better people more perfect for each other. If you are a fan of the Breed you will enjoy this book to no end. Not only is their tons of adventures with Brock and Jenna ,but the rest of the Breed and their mates. I'm hoping to get to see what Jenna is actually becoming and what her part in this whole story with Dragos ends up. I cant wait to get my hands on the next book in the series, Deeper than Midnight.

Sins Of The Flesh by Eve Silver

Eve Silver has been added to my must read list!! For her third book in the Otherkin Trilogy I was awe-struck. Finally I could find the end of the story coming together and then Eve Silver adds the next big puzzle piece to look forward to.

"Torn between lust and loyalty...

The blood of the Underworld lord of evil runs through soul reaper Malthus Krayl’s veins.
Raised to fight for survival and to kill for victory, he can destroy anyone who poses a threat. As he searches for the one responsible for his brother’s murder, he refuses to succumb to any distraction…until his sworn enemy crosses his path and tempts him beyond all reason.

Calliope Kane, a Daughter of Aset, has a personal hatred for soul reapers. Their savage attack against her family still haunts her. But only Malthus can help her find the traitors of her kind, and only she can help him hunt the source of betrayal amongst the reapers. As they unite, the danger grows closer…and the passion between them ignites."

I didn't think that Eve Silver could top her first two books in this series, but needless to say she did. From the beginning of the story I found myself dying to know how everything was going to play out. The chemistry between Mal and Calliope was nonstop since they first encountered each other. The adventure and love rolled through the story.

Sins of the Flesh continues the story from the previous 2 books. Lokan, the youngest son of Sutekh, is brutally killed and his brothers are trying to not only find his killers, but find his remains and soul so they can bring him back. Surprise, they aren't the only ones looking. Sutekh calls for a meeting with the other Underworld gods and that's when the ball really started rolling. The big question of who killed Lokan is finally  answered, but the last few pages in the book tells you the story will continue.

Not only do I recommend reading this book in the series ,but the next one that will follow. I couldn't tell you how excited I was to finally get my hands on Sins of the Flesh. I fell in love with Mal just like Calliope did. It was a fabulous read and I'm looking forward to the next installment, Body of Sin that is due out in June 2011.

Long Hard Ride by Lorelei James

Is it wrong to want a cowboy after this book? Well, it doesn't really matter because I'm off to the rodeo!!!

"Channing Kinkaid itches for a wild western adventure with an untamed man. Enter Colby McKaybull rider, saddle bronc buster and calf roper. He knows he's found a woman whose up to the challenge of cutting loose. Intrigued by Channings bold proposition to "horse around" on the road, Colby proposes sexual escapades not only in his bed, but in those of his two rodeo traveling partners. Can Channing give up total control? Especially when not all is as it seems with the sexy trio?"

Hot and sexy !!! It wasn't just an erotic book, but actually had a story that I was interested in. I became a fan Channing. She was put your foot down, let me lead my life, and it doesn't matter this is what I want. She took control of what she wanted. There is also several subplots going on here that got me so intrigued I have to read the entire series because I just have to know how things turn out for all the characters.

Channing Kinkaid wants an adventure that's for sure, but what better way to fulfill her fantasies than hooking up with Colby, however it is all on his terms and Channing is down for the ride of her life. Feelings change, friends become lovers, and emotions are brought in deep. What will Channing do? Well, she ends up making every minute of her life count and tries to figure exactly where she does belong. What she doesn't expect that Colby will test her will as much as her heart.

If your interested in a hot, steamy romance this is the book for you. After reading this I'm dying to sink my teeth into the next cowboy in Rode Hard, Put Up Wet.

Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James

Let's start with Cord and AJ... my first thought was NO WAY... but then it was all the wayyyyyyy!! Eeekkk !! One cowboy I wanted to saddle up ....

"...Ridin’ the edge of lust is fun—until someone falls in love.

Goody-two boots AJ Foster has waited her entire life for her dream cowboy Cord McKay to see her as more than the neighbor girl in pigtails. Now that she’s old enough to stake her claim on him, she’s pulling out all the sexual stops and riding hell-bent for leather—straight for his libido.

Divorced rancher Cord has sworn off all women…until innocent AJ suggests he teach her how to ride bareback—and he realizes she doesn’t mean horses or bulls. Between his responsibilities running his massive ranch, missing his young son and dealing with the sexual shenanigans of his brother and cousins, Cord is more than willing to take AJ up on her offer. On a trial basis.

The fun and games tie them both up in knots. AJ isn’t willing to settle for less than the whole shootin’ match with her western knight. But for Cord, even though the sexy cowgirl sets his blood ablaze, he’s determined to resist her efforts to lasso his battered heart.

Sweet, determined AJ has the power to heal—or heel—the gruff cowboy…unless Cord’s pride keeps him from admitting their relationship is more than a simple roll in the hay."

Fell in love with single father Cord. The perfect man was missing life and was able to find that in long time family friend, AJ. Not only does this series get better and better, but you became attached to these characters that you want the best for.

Lorelei James brings out some serious emotions and a tad bit of heartbreak but it is not all clouds and sun on this ranch. Not only wicked hot but the story just kept on going to draw you in deep into the McKay family. I loved AJ, admired her spunkiness and the fact she wasn't afraid to tell Cord off a time or three. AJ never sold herself short, it was all or nothing. But what will she finally choose? It will be hard decision to give up what she wanted the most.  Cord only to wake up at the thought he might lose her, and pulled out everything he was holding inside to make them right.

I'm not sure if anyone can top Cord and AJ after this lovin' on the ranch, but I am looking forward to the next book in the series ,Tied Up, Tied Down.
