DEEPER THAN ANY OCEAN . . .

All Holly Tyler wants is a fantastic career, a not-too-committed relationship, and a city where there are no painful memories. Instead, she's called back to her hometown of Seashell Bay to help with her family's struggling general store. It's a town where everyone knows everyone, and where one man could sink Holly's careful plans.

Deputy Sheriff Micah Lancaster has wanted Holly for as long as he can remember. He knows she has a life on the mainland-and a boyfriend-and that there's no real future with her. But now Holly is back and the attraction still flickers between them, a promise of something more. Their desire is stronger than any undertow . . . and once it pulls them under, it won't let go.

Review:
I love returning to seashell bay. These characters are close and I adore how everyone helps everyone no matter what is going on. This is truly a place I would love to live and by reading this it was like going home to visit with old friends.

Holly has returned to help her aunts run the store after one has a serious panic attack. She is set to start a new business in NYC but her aunts come first. Four years ago she lost her husband and has been throwing herself into work but the more time she spends home she realizes that everything and everyone she loves is here.

Micah has been in love with Holly for sometime but has never said anything. He doesn't want to ruin there great friendship and frankly he doesn't think she is ready for anything more. When break in start happening on the island it's time for him to find out who is behind it and finally get the girl of his dreams.

I was really happy with this book and how different it was from the previous two. Sykes did an excellent job on bringing in the break-ins and the whole prescription drugs selling. I would have liked maybe a little more mystery on who it was but it still worked for me.

Holly and Micah were awesome together. They not only had a great friendship but they awesome chemistry. I really liked how Micah didn't want to replace her deceased husband but just wanted her to live and fall in love again even if it wasn't with him. I would've liked to see them date but they were pretty much always together anyway which was nice.

There were a few times I did feel a little frustrated with Holly but yet I felt sympathy towards her as well. I was totally waiting for her to put on her big girl panties and tell Micah what she was really feeling and thinking but in the end it was worth it.

Overall I really enjoyed this read and I hope this isn't the end of Seashell Bay.

V.K. Sykes is really two people – Vanessa Kelly and Randy Sykes, a husband and wife team who write USA Today Bestselling contemporary romance and also romantic suspense. Randy excels at plot and characterization, but tends to fall down on the job when it comes to that pesky old thing called emotion. That’s where Vanessa steps in. She usually writes the sex scenes too, since Randy is a bit uncomfortable when it comes to that sort of stuff. Vanessa also writes award-winning Regency-set historical romance for Kensington Zebra under her own name. You can check out Vanessa’s bestselling historical romances at www.vanessakellyauthor.com
