Review: Rake's Redemption (Wind Dragons MC #4) by Chantal Fernando

Blurb

In New York Times bestselling author Chantal Fernando’s latest novel in the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club series, Rake—baddest of the bad boys—gets his own romance at last!

Rake is known for being up for anything, in and out of the bedroom. He’s wild, he’s deadly, yet quick with a joke or a stolen kiss. Known as the player of the WDMC, he loves women, the more the merrier. However, behind his womanizing façade, Rake hides the pain of losing his first love, Bailey. He hasn’t loved anyone since, and doesn’t think he ever will.

Seven years after their split, Rake and Bailey run into each other at the MC’s favorite club. Old wounds resurface, secrets are spilled...and passionate feelings are awakened. But they’ve each done things to hurt the other, hurt them too badly to get over it—haven’t they? Only when Bailey’s connection to Rake puts her in danger from another Club member does he realize that there’s nothing he won’t do to protect her—and claim her as his once again.

Review:
All I could say when I finally received this book was omg yes Rake! After the first book in the Wind Dragons series I became a huge fan of not only Ms. Fernando's writing but the characters especially Rake. So of course waiting for him to get his story was killing me and while I did love Rake and Bailey's story something was missing for me. It just didn't feel like the previous books that I read.

If you've read the previous books you know Rake is a manwhore who is always up for a good time both in and out of the bedroom. This story starts out in the past when him and Bailey are together then jumps to the present. Now neither of them have seen or spoken to each other in years until this happens and let's just say it's not a happy reunion for either one of them for different reasons.

Bailey and Rake start to avoid one another for the beginning of the book but every time they do happen to run into one another it's a bit awkward and words start flying. Right away you can see that they both still love and hate one another. They had great tension between them because of the past and I really enjoyed the way they spared verbally with one another.

Of course in the Wind Dragons series some trouble is always brewing and this book is no different but the trouble in this book maybe lasted all 10 pages which is why I was pretty bummed. The threat is mentioned here and there but the action part didn't last that long before these two had their HEA. Hopefully the next book will contain a little bit more action.

I did like how the characters took some time to bring up the past and what happened that night they no longer were the couple they thought they were. When the incident is brought up I was really kind of pissed at both of them and thought they had a major communication problem that really should have been addressed from the beginning.

As they started to become a couple again I really started to enjoy them together. Rake was excellent with Bailey's daughter and I loved seeing a completely different side of him from the previous books in this series. Of course there are some pretty hot and heavy scenes *fans self* and I loved how Bailey just went with it and wanted to try to get to know who Rake is now and please him. I thought that was awesome of her.

I loved catching up with all the previous characters who all made so appearances throughout Rake's story. The more I read of this series the more I love it. This is one MC series I will stick with until the very end! If you love the Wind Dragons series you don't want to miss Rake's Redemption and if you haven't started this series you're missing out!
