Description
THE FAST LANE WAS GOING NO WHERE…Despite growing up the glitzy world of fashion models and rock stars, that lifestyle holds no appeal for librarian Harper Simmons. She craves small-town normalcy and a place to call home. With a philanthropic grant in hand, Harper sets out for Sunnyside, IL, eager to reopen the town library. But the locals aren’t very welcoming to the woman in designer clothes—once again showing her she doesn’t fit in.
GROWING UP IN A SMALL TOWN…Wasn’t all it was cracked up to be for Dr. Zach Novak. Yes, Sunnyside had given him security and self-confidence—but now he’s smothered by their constant scrutiny and inevitable matchmaking. Longing to view the world from a less-restrictive stage, he’s making plans to head out of town…until he meets the enchanting new librarian.
WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE…There’s bound to be trouble. Harper and Zach’s physical and emotional connection has them steaming up the nights with a secret affair. When Zach leaves on a humanitarian mission, their relationship becomes public knowledge and Harper is blamed for driving him away. Allegations about her past further alienate the town, and she questions her desire to remain where she isn’t wanted. Even if Zach returns to Sunnyside, will he be lost to her forever?

Review:
I normally love small town romance stories mainly because of the people we get to meet. More then half the time I want to move their because everyone is just so damn friendly and nice but for Everybody Knows, this is one town I would just drive right through and wouldn't stop for gas.
Harper is the new town librarian and the moment she steps into town she is dealt with mean people. The only person who is nice to her is Zach and that's mainly because he wants to sleep with her before he moves from Sunnyside. From the beginning is looked down upon because of her hair, clothes, body, and being a vegetarian which I found quite annoying the more I read. It's obvious these people had nothing to do in their spare time and even in the end when Harper made some friends and some people started to like her there were many who were ready to have her resign.
I did however enjoy the romance that bloomed between Harper and Zach. Of course they were attracted to one another but I liked that they actually took the time to talk and get to know one another before they ended up in the bedroom. While I did like Zach I thought the whole god complex on how the town treated him was a little much and not believable. Zach has some really sweet moments that i enjoyed and the one that stood out the most is when he got her a cat.
This story overall was just okay for me. I would have liked to see more humor throughout the story and less of the angry townspeople who didn't like outsiders. We are also introduced to Harper's fashion model sister who seemed like an interesting character and I hope she ends up getting her own HEA. As it stands right now I will give book two a try in hopes the author will switch it up a little.
