Leave it to the O’Learys to make romance a family affair…

Maggie O’Leary is finally coming home to Chicago. After more than a year in Ireland, she’s ready to make a plan for her future. But first, she’ll have to confront the tragedy that scarred her so deeply. Asking for a job in the family bar is the first step, and it’s one her family isn’t entirely happy about. At least Shane Callahan, her best friend in the world, is behind her a hundred percent. He’s also a hundred percent more lovable than she remembered…

Shane is determined to keep Maggie safe, even if it means working three jobs and giving up sleep to be around during her shifts at the bar. But when Maggie boldly tells him she needs more than a loyal friend now, Shane knows a single night together won’t be possible. The idea of spirited Maggie in his bed is electrifying, but will she believe he wants to give her his heart, too?

Review:

I am such a sucker for when two best friends end up getting together.

Maggie is back from living in Europe for a year to reclaim her life back. About 5 years ago she was raped by an ex boyfriend and now she is ready to conquer her fears by working in the family bar, living above it where it happened and getting her sex life back on track. I really liked that Maggie was determined even though she had some set backs but overall she was strong enough to keep fighting for what she wanted. Shane has been her best friend so she has a big favor to ask when she asks him to get her sex life back on track since its been 5 years.

"What do you serve a guy you’re going to ask to sleep with you? Chips? Cookies?"

Shane has always been in love with Maggie but he has never done anything about it. The timing was always wrong. So when Maggie asks him to help her get on with her sex life he throws in the plan to make them a couple but he knows it will take some time. Shane was so sweet, caring, considerate and hot! He not only knows everything about her but he knows how strong she is and respects her for it.

You can tell right from the beginning they have a sting friendship and love for one another. I loved the banter and how so easily they got along. Even after sex their relationship was a little weird but they both had things they had to work out and decide if they should just be friends or have a serious relationship.

While reading I was really waiting for the ex to pop up so I was surprised he didn't other then a letter she got. This story didn't end up with marriage or a baby so that was nice but it ended up with him asking her to move it which I loved.

Since this is the first book I have read in this series I didn't know the family but from reading this book I liked them and the sibling banter. I am looking forward to starting this series from the beginning.
