Guest Post with Author Julie A. Lindsey

Danielle! Thank you so much for having me over to your blog today! This is my first blog tour and I’m pretty excited about it. Coming to your blog makes me feel a little famous because I’ve been reading your reviews for more than a year now and I fully admit to my stalkerazzi status on twitter. True.

While I’m here and before I reveal anything else super crazy, I thought I’d tell you about my novella Bloom.  Bloom is the first title in my Seeds of Love series for the new Honey Creek books line. All the books will center around the same fictitious small town in rural Ohio, and while the genres will vary, I jumped into sweet romance because reading them makes me all swoony eyed. I had to try my hand at writing one too. Turns out…I love it!

Writing sweet romance was a nice transition for me. I read YA almost exclusively before this. For years I thought the draw was their youth and fearlessness. Then I read a YA with no hero in sight. About three chapters in, I put it down. That happened a couple more times last year before my brain made the connection. It wasn’t the age or the ‘take-on-the-world’ attitude that hooked me (though I have nothing against either of those things) it was the romance! YA authors are so incredibly effective at creating this inner turmoil and stress between the hero and heroine. Suddenly the welfare of the world rides on whether or not the hero will look at the heroine today or not. If he does, she can’t even eat at lunchtime because the butterflies have filled her tummy. If he doesn’t, she can’t do anything at all aside from over analyze what went wrong since yesterday when he smiled in her direction.

Now, my sweet stories don’t go that far with the angst, but the pressure is definitely on to find out in a big girl way if he wants her too. They have to deal with real emotional dramas, and be brave enough to put it out there. These characters overcome heartaches and tragedy, plowing through the storm to meet in the middle. Getting to the middle is the tricky part, and then of course wondering if they one they love will be there when the fog clears. So, what is this, you ask…grown up YA? Psh. No. Not really. I mean,  I do include my share of longing glances and leading kisses, but so what? I like those. LOL.

If you’re looking for a new line of books or a new author to try this year, I hope you’ll visit Honey Creek. It’s a beautiful place where anything can happen. Kick off your shoes, relax into that porch swing and cuddle up with a steamy hot toddy. Taking a trip to Honey Creek is as easy as Amazon : ) See you there!

Bloom by Julie Anne Lindsey
In a town filled with her past, she never expected to find her future…
Seven years ago Cynthia left Honey Creek with a broken heart. Three years ago Mitchell arrived with one.  Now Cynthia’s come home, and these two hardened hearts can’t stop arguing. If they’d only take a break long enough to find some common ground, they might be surprised to find love can grow anywhere.
If they’ll let it, love will find a way to Bloom.
*Bloom is book one in my new Seeds of Love series.  I’ll be planting those seeds all year.
