Tomorrow, the third book in the Sweetblood series, TEMPTED BY BLOOD, comes out in print, with the digital version available on March 1. It’s Jackson’s story and if you’ve read the first two books, you know he’s the playboy, the charmer among the Guardians of the Seattle field office.
Before I even started writing his story, I knew Jackson was a bad boy all the way down to the ever-changing highlights in his hair. Dom, from BONDED BY BLOOD, beat the crap out of him when he thought Jackson was making sexual references about Mackenzie. Lily, from EMBRACED BY BLOOD, teased him incessantly and was angry that he broke up with a woman she liked. Mitch, his partner in TEMPTED BY BLOOD, waits patiently in the back of the Pink Salon nightclub as Jackson spends time with a woman in one of the private rooms.
So, yes, he’s naughty. But I didn’t know how naughty he was until I started writing this book. He surprised me several times. One detail I wasn’t even sure my editor would let me keep, but it was an important part of the story—his story—so she felt it was as necessary as I did.
Like many people who live a life like his, he’s covering up something. Not only is he hiding from his past, but he’s also in denial about his future. His control is slipping and he feels he’s on the verge of reverting back to the violent urges of their ancestors who killed and fed from humans. And if anyone guesses this, it means an instant death for a Guardian sworn to protect humans from vampires.Jackson fears he’s becoming the very enemy he’s fighting against and he’ll do just about anything to cover it up.
That’s when he meets Arianna. But what does she do? She exposes him, forcing him to come face to face with his fears. And that is NOT okay with him.I hope you enjoy Jackson and Arianna’s story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
