Guest Post & Giveaway with Keri Ford

Today I want to welcome Keri Ford...

A Man’s-Man’s kind of Dude

Thanks so much Danielle for asking me out today to talk about my latest release, Satisfying Her Tastes http://keriford.com/books/uninhibited-in-apple-trail-arkansas/#tastes . Stay tuned to the end where I have information about how you can win a copy! But first—the hero of this story.

Grant Iverson likes women and women like Grant. Now hold on a minute. I know he doesn’t sound all that fantastic on the surface…but let’s think about James Bond. Now what do you think? Unapologetically attracted to the ladies. Rwwarrr. That’s right. Difference is, James often wears a suit and Grant’s in dirty jeans and an even dirtier shirt. James drives sports cars. Grant is in a beat-up, muddy truck. James is saving the world. Grant’s just trying to round up his older brothers.
Oh, also? Grant is trying to become a one-woman-show.
Let me back up a little. Grant has these three older brothers. They have no dad in their life, but a very devoted mom who they all love. More than anything, mom wants grandchildren and her boys to understand that life is rich when you have a family.
But the boys are too busy having fun times with the ladies. Especially Grant. That is until their mother dies from breast cancer and knocks him on his muscular, shapely backside. Too late, Grant understands what mom wants. His brothers are all separated with only holidays bringing them together with a phone call or two. That’s just not enough.
The boys inherit some land in Apple Trail, Arkansas and Grant becomes a man with a plan. He’s going to be that guy his mother always wanted. The family kind of guy with just one woman in his life. He’s going to get his brothers together in this small town and they’re going to be happy. He’s pretty persistent about it all, even though getting his brothers to understand is going to be the biggest challenge.
Or so he thinks.
Here enters our heroine, Rebecca Gabel and Grant’s fighting his lifelong desires to go after what he wants and tries to become this family dude. He underestimated  his desire for women and quitting quick encounters and one night stands isn’t as easy as he thought.
Exhibit A
<<He cleared his head and reminded himself that her brother was the Andy Griffith of this town and the man was standing three feet away, watching them. And of course, that part about Grant being ready for more from life than a great pair of legs willing to open for him. “Red truck.”
She nodded and put her feet down, balancing the bike as she walked it back from her spot on her toes. Side-to-side, the strong muscles of her legs flexed as she moved it back. “I’ll wait for you at the road.”
He started and headed for his truck and got the idea out of his head that he’d like to climb on behind her. Or offer her something else to straddle. He shook his head. It’s not like he ever thought a lifestyle change was going to be easy. It was just going to take some time before he could watch a beautiful woman on a motorcycle and not think about how those legs going around her bike would look wrapped around his waist.>>
Exhibit B
<<Her hands returned to her back pockets and he really wished she’d stop doing that. From the back, it sagged her shorts and showed the slimmest bit of tanned skin he imagined was darkened from leaning over her bike.
From the front, it forced her full breasts forward. And he shouldn’t be noticing things like the roundness of her tits or wondering if he stared hard enough, maybe he could see pebbled nipples. He should be paying attention to her mind, wits, and other shit like that. Important stuff.>>
Exhibit C
<<She flipped open the button of her shorts and they hit the ground along with his mouth as she stood not four feet away in bright purple panties.
She winked. Again.
And again, he thought things he shouldn’t be thinking.>>

And that’s just Chapter 2. Grant has a looooong way to go before he can become this good caring guy. What do you think about this kind of man? Do you have a favorite character from a book, TV Show or movie? Leave me a comment and you’ll be entered for a chance to win an electronic copy of Satisfying Her Tastes! Thanks again for having me today!
I’ll check back in through the day for comments—if you have any questions about the series, ask away!

  2. The book sounds great. I think Grant has a lot of work to do but if his mind is set on settling down then I'm sure hell turn into a great guy. For your other question there are just too many great male characters out there. We could be here all day if I got started. Thanks for the giveaway

There are so many characters I love, from TV it would have to be Timothy Olyphant in his new series Justified *swoon*, from books it is a character named Bone Daddy from R.G. Alexander's book Possess Me, and the list goes on and on heehee

  5. aw, thanks so much Ivelisse! I don't think I've heard of Justified, not that I'm sure I could fit another show in! I'm anxious for NCIS to start back for a little more Tony Dinozzo!

  6. Oh, it certainly sounds like Grant is having a tough time making his plans a reality!! It also sounds like a book I would enjoy reading.

  7. from what I've heard--GREAT pick Karen! Haven't read the In Death series. There's so many now, it's a little intimidating to start them!

  8. Men like Grant can be a lot of fun, as long as he's honest that he's not interested in a commitment or that he's working on it.

There's so many great male characters out there Roarke and Remington Steele (I imagine Roarke as a bit manlier and mature than remington Steele. Curran fom Ilona Andrews. Eric from the Southern Vamp. series/TrueBlood. He might be a Grant.

  15. Hi! I really don't have "a favorite" character. There are so many different characters that I love reading that I can't pick a favorite.
This book sounds great. I have not read anything by Keri Ford but would love to read this. It sounds great and I hope that this is the beginning of a series and theat the other brothers will get their HEA stories.

  16. Yadkny--hey! thanks for stopping by. there's 6 in the Uninhibited Series. The last one is scheduled for the first of November.Next summer I have a spin off of THIS BOOK! Grant has three older brothers, so back to Apple Trail I go! The brother's stories will be slightly longer and won't carry the "uninhibited" theme like these first 6.

  17. June--thanks for stopping by! and YES! I just mentioned it. The brothers do get their stories. that's what I'm working on at the moment. His older brothers have been a lot of fun to work with and the women they're getting are straightening them all up!

While this is a "series" the books are loosely connected, so you'll be totally fine to read out of order and restart with Grant.
