Why I Love Romance & Giveaway...

Romance is one of the biggest genres out. I couldn’t think of a better way to start or end my day then getting lost in the wonderful world of romance. You get everything from contemporary to paranormal and suspense to historical. Needless to say the list goes on and on, but one thing is always guaranteed and that’s a happily ever after ending.

There is nothing like the journey of the hero and heroine and what they embark on. Watching them grow and learn is more than exciting, its heart pounding. Watching them not want to fall in love to them waiting their lives to play out perfectly. I love that their roads are never easy because let’s face it, in life it never is, but to get to where you want it to be you have to step on a few stones, fall down, and pick yourself right back up to get on the right track.
Romance has passion! The Passion is what I can’t get enough of.
1. any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate.
2. strong amorous feeling or desire; love; ardor.
3. strong sexual desire; lust.
There is nothing like the passion and tension that leads to the first kiss. When that happens I am swooning all over the place. I am a romantic at heart so when the tension and passion reach sky rocket levels it amazes me when it all comes together. They have the books that make you cry, swoon, and laugh all the way to the end. It’s the best place to be.

There is nothing like love. Love is what I look forward to. I mean who wouldn’t want to read about the perfect love?!?! Needless to say I can swoon and cry over what is to come and what it is about. The tension while waiting is more than ever after, its epic. It’s something I can’t get enough of. It’s the hope that continues to pour out while you are reading. I just want more and more!

The road to love might be more then disheartening but in the end it is all worth it. Happily ever after don’t come easy but in due time the hero and heroine are descend to make it work. Compromise and love makes it all worth it regardless if you’re normal, vampire, etc. it all fall together in the end.

Romance gives me hope, love, and what to look forward to.
It’s a genre that will truly never die. It gives you freedom to be what you want to be. A Love you never thought that was possible. My husband isn’t a vampire or the perfect guy at all, but romance makes the heart grow.

While you’re reading you picture these men but in the end romance gets me through my day. How has romance impacted your life?

  1. I love romance, I always have, i would call myself a hopeless romantic, I guess. I love getting lost in stories of how people overcome difficult pasts, issues, fears to find happiness and love. I love my romance novels! :)

  2. I think the premise and the promise of the HEA is what gets me every time. Feeling what they feel, going along for a ride with them is my way of escapism ;)

  3. I not terribly romantic. I find definite similarities between myself and the tv Temperance Brennan from Bones. (Not from Kathy Reich's books, the two characters are very different.)

I do love reading romance in most of it's subgenres though.

  4. I love reading romance because it helps remind me of the sweet things my hubby has done over the years. I sometimes forget the romantic and tender momentswe have shared when life sends a bunch of hideous reality my way. Love can give you a strength to persevere through anything.

  5. Reading Romance has definitely been a form of escapism, just like watching tv and movies. I love reading basically all sub-genres of Romance, but especially love Paranormal Romance because of the incredible world-building of very talented authors.

  6. Reading romance books is my favorite hobby. I can get lost in a different story each day, go anywhere, learn about different cultures/ history/etc. I love the HEA and can not imagine not reding romances. Although I read a variety of books/sub-genres, right now PNR seems to be my favorite.

  8. My husband always asks how I can continue to devour romance novels because "aren't they all the same, happy ending and all that?"
And to reply I just always tell him it's not the destination, it's the journey to get there that counts.
I am so glad there are other hopeless romantics out there! =)

  9. I love romantic novels. I got hooked on them well over 30 years ago when I picked up Flame & the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I ended up naming my son after the hero in that book and I've been enjoying romantic novels ever since. I love curling up with a good romance after a hectic day ... I fall asleep dreaming about the places & people that seem so real...

  10. I'm also a huge romance reader, but this is a relatively new addiction for me. I've always been a romantic person, but due to a multitude of reasons, my love life has been nil for a number of years. It all started (cue nostalgic music) when I began reading paranormal stories - mostly about vamps and shifters - I found that almost all of them had the hero and heroine fall in love. As my interest progressed, I started including many different types of romance books at many different heat levels. Now, I can't get enough of this genre and its many subgenres.

  13. Romance allows me to escape when things aren't going well. When my love life wasn't worth talking about, I'd read romantic suspense or paranormal romance; I'd get to escape and have a story still provide the HEA but give me something more. I've recently found some 'sweet' romance stories I really like, too.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  14. It's the journey to the HEA that keeps me reading. Escapism into another realm is another. I will never tire of reading Romance in any genre. Great post. GFC name is Lucky47

  15. Please don't enter me in the contest, but I wanted to comment...

I agree. Romance genre has given me positive hope. I know that there have been articles written disparaging the genre, stating it gives women unhealthy expectations about love and romance. I disagree. While that may happen for some women, I know that a little escapism and daydreaming has been beneficial to my girlfriends. So what if my guy isn't Mr. Perfect?! I can read about it in a book, and love my husband for who he is or isn't.
