ARC REVIEW: Blood Rights (House of Comarré #1) by Kristen Painter

"The lacy gold mapped her entire body. A finely-wrought filigree of stars, vines, flowers, butterflies, ancient symbols and words ran from her feet, up her legs, over her narrow waist, spanned her chest and finished down her arms to the tips of her fingers.

Born into a life of secrets and service, Chrysabelle’s body bears the telltale marks of a comarré—a special race of humans bred to feed vampire nobility. When her patron is murdered, she becomes the prime suspect, which sends her running into the mortal world…and into the arms of Malkolm, an outcast vampire cursed to kill every being from whom he drinks.

Now Chrysabelle and Malkolm must work together to stop a plot to merge the mortal and supernatural worlds. If they fail, a chaos unlike anything anyone has ever seen will threaten to reign."

Review:

First I must say Kristen Painter did an amazing job on this book. I was getting bored with the whole vampire theme. But she brings in a fresh new look and a storyline that will keep you hooked. Seriously I couldn't put it down. Well, actually I really didn't want to put it down to be honest.

Kristen brings you into a whole new world that is filled with not only vampires but shifters, ghosts and magic. This new world had me flipping the pages quickly and had my mind wondering in so many different directions. With each twist and turn I had a reaction that I can't even begin to explain.

There were so many intriguing characters but I was drawn to Melkolm and Chrysabelle from the moment they were introduced. The tension between them was so well written. And let's face the facts I am a big tension whore. I loved the fact that they loved to hate each other, but since they both needed the other one it made it a unique and fast paced read. I am excited to see where the next two books will take them.

The book never had a dull moment and kept me engaged from the beginning until the very last page.  The depth of the world that was built is set not to far in the future and truly unique. Blood Rights has some serious action and has some really intense moments. Each chapter gives you information to where things are going to end up.

This review was hard to write due to the fact I didn't want to giveaway anything. This story has  a wonderful plot, wonderfully built characters and a story that just will knock you off your feet.

I am really looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd books that are do out later this year. This is a series that I am really looking forward to and I can't wait to see where it ends up. Welcome Kristen Painter to the auto buy list. I hope everyone can sink there teeth into this amazing book. Happy reading!!
