Guest Post & Giveaway with Cari Quinn

Happy haunting! And contest!

Many thanks to Danielle for inviting me back to blog with her. Today is the release day for Bad Kitty, my Halloween-themed novella. There aren't any spooks or vampires, but there is a sexy twin dressed up in a devil costume and a woman who feels jilted in a Domme Kitty outfit whose ready to make the devil pay. While Bad Kitty's warning includes a mention of BDSM, I don't really think a couple whaps of a tail (that's sort of like a flogger, yes) count as BDSM, but that will be up to the reader.

Patrick and Nikki's story came about because Halloween has been my favorite holiday since I was a child – and yep, I still watch Peanuts' It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown every year – and I wanted to write a story around that holiday. Someday I'll do a paranormal Halloween story - maybe one about ghosts since they fascinate me - but in the meantime, Nikki and Patrick have nothing more dangerous to deal with than possible spontaneous combustion from a night of hot sex. ;)

Why do I like Halloween so much? Well, the reasons are endless. First of all, I love fall. There's something so gorgeous about changing leaves and checking out fat pumpkins sitting on porches. I love the ambience and I savor the smells, too...fresh apple cider, woodsmoke, crisp breezes...ah, it's making me want to go outside and jump in a pile of leaves! (Which I haven't gotten around to raking yet...shh.) Then there are the spooky aspects. I'm a huge fan of vampire stories – Bones from Halfway to the Grave anyone? - and I love classic horror movies, like Halloween. I've watched that movie so many times I have it memorized. Plus there's just something so magical about this time of year, isn't there? Almost as if anything can be possible if you wish upon the moon...

What about you? Do you have a favorite holiday? Which one and why? If you don't like/don't celebrate holidays, no problem, just wave hello and you'll be entered too. I'll pick a random commenter to win their choice of ANY of my ebooks (including Bad Kitty.) So comment away!

Bad Kitty blurb:

Reformed bad girl Nikki Carson has spent the past year trying to forget her boss's Halloween party and the unbelievable sex she had with her boss's hot twin, Patrick Nolan. Patrick hasn't mentioned that night since, much to Nikki's endless disappointment.

Years of following in the wake of his womanizing brother cause Patrick to wonder if Nikki even knows which twin she slept with. He can't believe she could possibly prefer him over her slick, polished boss. That doesn't mean he's been able to stop fantasizing about taking her again. Against the wall. On the floor. Everywhere.

It's Halloween again, and trick or treat takes on a whole new meaning when Nikki and Patrick go for round two. Especially since Nikki's come prepared with a Domme kitty costume meant to drive Patrick wild. And this kitty's ready to show her claws if she doesn't get what she wants...

This title contains: explicit language, anal sex, and BDSM.

  1. I don't love Halloween. I hate being scared and dressing up. Somehow I've never corresponded the vampires and shapeshifters that I love to read to Halloween.

I do love fall too, though. I love the cooler temps, the changing leaves. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. All the great food and getting together with family. Plus, football returns in the fall and I love watching the games!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway. Bad Kitty sounds really hot.

  4. I love the Fall and living in the interior of Alaska we have millions of Birch trees that sweep the mountains and valley's mix among the black spruce. The moose wander through the Fall eating the birch bark and bedding down when resting.....*S*
I have no little one's in the home now for the holidays, but I love the little Tricker Treater's with their little costumes they are so cute and it's fun to spoil them with the candy.....LOL
Sadly no pine trees can withstand the Artic winters here, and I am a born and bred northwest girl at heart. I so miss the Tamarack (western Larch) trees of Northeast Washington and North Idaho.. They are the only pine trees to lose their needles in the Fall. When you look to the mountains of North Idaho in the Fall it looks like the mountains are on fire with the orange needles of the Tamarack. It is an awesome site...*S*
    It is so
    Thank you for the giveaway!

  5. This story sounds like a lot of fun! I have often wondered why people don't just get things out in the open. I guess if everyone actually learned to ask questions and talk there would be no mystery in life or books!
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  10. I guess Christmas would be my choice. When I was little, my mom would decorate the living room with her little snow village and nativity scene.

I remember one year my kitten would take the
little tree out of the scene. We even covered the piano with a sheet at night to keep him from getting it. He would just go under the sheet and get the tree.

  17. The book sounds hot! I really love halloween! Mainly it's the best because of the creativity people use when decorating and choosing a costume. It's so fun to go out in a community spirit and see what fun things the neighborhood has done to add a little excitement and fright to their life. Its like a scary movie, which I also love partaking in

  19. Hmm, I love ALL holidays. But I love Christmas and Halloween the most.
I like Halloween because you can dress up who you want and get endless candy! Yay, candy!
But I also live Christmas, because well, it's that time of year to spend time with family, hang out, eats lots of food like you did on Thanksgiving, get presents and have a good time.

  20. I'm a fall baby (my bday was yesterday!) so fall is my favorite time of year. Besides the beautiful turning of the leaves - a true gift of living in the Northeast - the light is sumptuous and makes everything from magnificent trees to a sidewalk in NYC look like a work of art.
And now - I want to win your book! This is my second shot at it, so maybe I'll get lucky!
