ARC Review: Playing With Trouble by Chanel Cleeton

The author of Flirting with Scandal presents her second book in a sexy contemporary romance series about three sisters in a powerful political family, the scandals that threaten to destroy them, and the passion that drives them…

The daughter of one of the Senate's most powerful figures, Blair Reynolds was ready to become the ultimate political wife—until she caught her fiancĂ© cheating on her wedding day. Law school is a fresh start, her shot at putting the pieces of her life back together. That’s the plan, at least. Until trouble comes in the form of her Torts professor, the man whose arrogance infuriates her in class but haunts her private fantasies.

Graydon Canter had a fortune and a place on all the hottest "Thirty under Thirty” lists, until a series of personal missteps nearly destroyed his career. A year teaching at a D.C. law school is just the break he needs to get his life back in order, as long as nothing—and no one—trips him up.

When Blair and Gray are forced to work together, their explosive attraction becomes impossible to resist. But Gray’s demons have drawn him dangerously close to the edge, and Blair has spent her life playing by the rules. Will she break them for a shot at love?

Review:

This is the second book in the series and I can honestly say I loved it!!!

Gray is smart, sexy and has some demons in his past, but that does not take away from this hot professor. From the moment he see Blair it's like bam I want her but I won't do anything about but the feeling between them is mutual. I love how he calls her constantly in class just to get his fix for the week.

Blair has grown up in the public eye and after running out on her wedding she decides to attend law school to figure out what she really wants. Although she claims to hate gray she can't stop the attraction she is feeling towards him and oh boy the chemistry between them can set the pages on fire.

One of things I loved most about this book was that relationship wasn't rushed and it consisted of flirting a lot and some kisses here and there. Although they try to keep the student/teacher relationship between them the chemistry they have just won't let up.

I enjoyed how gray realizes he can run from his past but by being around Blair it makes him see that he can be the man she wants and not the man who thinks he doesn't deserve her. I enjoyed how Blair grew into her own woman and started calling the shots that she new what was best for her regardless of who she pissed off in her family.

When gray and Blair finally get together it's explosive and they end up balancing each other out well. I liked how they seemed so comfortable and even though their relationship isn't easy they are giving it a shot.

I also enjoyed learning more about Jackie and Kate in this story and how their sisterly relationship is coming along from the previous book.

This series is full of surprises and just keeps getting better as it goes on. The characters are well written and the storyline is unique. I couldn't put this book down and I am dying to read about Kate and see what happens in her story.

If you haven't read book one I really suggest you do before you dive into book 2. It gives you more background on the characters and it will have you hooked from the beginning to the end.
